SMS and Apps work together very well

Nice article today in Mobile Marketer about a restaurant that is using both SMS and an App.

Do you think you should have an App over SMS?

SMS will hit 99.9% of the cell market, where as an App will only hit 17% of the SmartPhone market  and of those Apple represents 13% of that SmartPhone market share or 3% of the total Cell Phone Market.

“Although smartphones are very popular and growing in popularity literally over night, a large percentage of the population does not have smartphones,” Mr. Lewis said. “The combination of the SMS message and the iPhone app allow me to reach a larger percentage of customers.”

Casey McConnell, the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, founded Qittle in September 2008. Before founding Qittle, Mr. McConnell was the Marketing Director for The Aspen Club & Spa.
