Kristen Luxton received a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Commerce, with a degree in Marketing from the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University in 2006. Upon graduating Kristen moved to Chicago where she earned an internship with The San Jose Group, a prominent Hispanic advertising agency.
Kristen was able to use her experience at the internship and turn it into a full-time assistant Media Planner position with the reputable Laughlin Constable advertising agency. During her time at Laughlin Constable, Kristen learned from a great team of media professionals including Cathleen Boland and Emily Harley, and worked on clients such as Florsheim shoes and Buell motorcycles.
After almost a year of working in advertising and media, Kristen chose to pursue her passion, and took an opportunity to play volleyball professionally in Switzerland. After 8 months of playing overseas, Kristen returned to Chicago and continued to train in the sand as a beach volleyball player.
It was during this time that Kristen really started realizing the power of Social Media and its impact and it’s potential as a powerful marketing tool. Upon moving to Long Beach, California in 2009 Kristen started an independent Social Media Marketing company, PXY Marketing. PXY Marketing works with small businesses to provide them with valuable cost-effective strategies, and Social Media marketing solutions. There is a never-ending amount of tools, knowledge, and resources available in the Social Media world. She is always working to educate herself on how to maximize all Social Media outlets to the fullest. As a result, Kristen is able to provide her clients with unique solutions specific to their business.
On February 26th, 2010 she will join Qittle at an educational Social Media and mobile marketing seminar in Los Angeles. You can find more information on attending this seminar at http://events.linkedin.com/Qittle-presents-Social-Mobile-Media-its/pub/167341
